Bottom House Farm is an idyllic base from which to explore Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and many other small fishing villages, bays and coves along this rugged stretch of the north east coast.

Walk spectacular coastal paths or cycle the old Whitby to Scarborough railway line to Robin Hoods Bay. Discover the delights of beach combing and rock pooling or wander in and out of narrow streets, nooks and crannies once the haunt of smugglers and custom men.

Visit Whitby with it picturesque harbour from where famous explorers set sail, take a boat trip out fishing or sight seeing. Stroll down cobbled streets, climb ancient steps to the abbey and St Marys church, the inspiration for Bram Stokers 'Dracula'. See the sights and sounds of town from the open air bus or go back in time and travel by steam bus. Sample the famous Whitby Fish & Chips shops and cafes abound.

Travel a little further inland to 'the moors' and the North York Moors National Park, information centre at Danby. Soak up the solitude on the heather moors, marvel at the spectacular views of the valleys and dales of the Upper Esk.

Take in the idyllic villages nestling in the valley bottoms or perched high on ridges between the dales. Travel on steam trains, go boating on the Esk, follow ancient trods over moors and fields, ford the river and streams over stepping stone and ancient pack horse bridges.

Relax and unwind, sample the delights in the many superb pubs, cafes restaurant with in the area.
